Almond Elementary PTA Goals 2024-2025

Each year, the Almond Elementary PTA provides volunteer and financial support for activities, programs, and supplies that directly benefit our students, staff, and school. The Almond PTA takes particular pride in assisting teachers and staff. Our goals for the 2024-2025 School Year include support of the following:

 

1) Individualized Learning

  • Support principal and teachers in meeting needs of academic and instructional goals, including teacher training and curriculum materials.

  • Help Almond stay on the cutting edge in terms of testing and small group/individualized instruction plans (within and across grade levels).

2) Teachers and Staff

  • Maintain the number of Teacher Innovation Grants

  • Maintain amount of Teacher Expense Reimbursements to amount for maximum number of students

  • Maintain All Staff Appreciation Budget & Activities

3) Diversity & Inclusivity

  • Explore options to promote inclusion of families of various cultural backgrounds in existing or new community building events.

  • Promote cultural celebrations & awareness through school assemblies, ordering library & classroom books that help with cultural immersion & understanding, as well as encouraging teachers to embed cultural diversity in lesson planning

4) Technology

  • Provide funds to support updates/advances in existing technology, and allow for new purchases as needed in the case where district funding for technology is depleted.

5) Communication & Community

  • Continue to serve as a link between school staff and the families we serve through a variety of tools, including Thursday Word, Room Parents, Classroom Parent, Marquee sign, etc.

  • Establish a separate Almond PTA website to improve awareness and understanding of Almond PTA.

  • Continue to support enrichment programs (Art Docent, Living Classroom, and Drama & Music).

  • Continue to host Community Building and Fundraising Events such as Ice Cream Social, Walk-a-thon, Walk or Wheel Day, Book Fairs, Family Science Night, STEM Expo, and Spring Gala Auction.

  • Support specific grade activities like grade level field trips, assemblies & 6th grade activities and promotion.

  • Continue our partnership with LAEF and LASD to advocate for all LASD students.
